WINNER! – Best Scarecrow Supporting a Cause (Child)

My name is Jane Upstander and this is my baby Carlotta.   We are walking all over Sierra Madre to tell people about Juvenile Diabetes, also known as Type One Diabetes.  This form of diabetes affects kids.  Our friend Rachel was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes at the age of 5.  The walk helps raise money to fund research for a cure, and to find ways to improve the lives of those with Type One diabetes.  A Type One diabetics own body attacks their pancreas and destroys the cells that create insulin.  This makes people with Type One dependent upon insulin shots throughout the day and night.  We would like to see Type One diabetics have a safer, less stressful life.  We are happy about Halloween, and on October 30th we are excited to join the team “Rachel’s Rainbow” at the Rose Bowl for the JDRF walk  As you can see the walk is a family affair. Kids of all ages come, because kids get this disease and have it for the rest of their lives.  Would you like to support us?  Visit Rachel’s Rainbow Team page for the walk and feel free to donate.
