What is Community Performance?

Community Performance is a set of attitudes or precepts. It is a diverse contemporary art practice that believes that artistic practices can have an impact on the larger social community and world. The practice shares a commitment to dialogue and interaction, with the fundamental belief that the audience – the community – has a great deal to offer. Community Performance works are dedicated to saving space in busy worlds and lives to communicate experiences and encourage collaboration. Our project is interested in exploring personal voices, inspiring civic engagement and awareness and together working toward connection and shared experience.
