Old Scarecrow

In the late 1800's a man had a flourishing farm in Southern California. To keep all pests away, including children, he created a menacing scarecrow. Late one night children were messing around, poking, and laughing at the scarecrow. While distracted with their teasing, a corn maze suddenly grew all around. It took them until sunrise to find their way home. When they returned to show others what they had experienced, they could only find dry cracked ground. However, they did see their footprints encircling a broken post which was all that remained of the old scarecrow.
