Executive Director
ABOUT The Role: Executive Director
We are seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead the mission-driven Creative Arts Group (CAG) in Sierra Madre. A well-established nonprofit art center, CAG provides classes, programs, exhibitions and workshops in a friendly environment for people of all ages, ethnicities and economic backgrounds.
As the Executive Director working with a large group of hourly staff, you will oversee operations, programs and fundraising efforts while building strong relationships with stakeholders, donors and community partners. A successful candidate will excel at balancing effective administration of the center and its
classes, work with a wide variety of students, friends and supporters, and financial management with an emphasis on class enrollment and fundraising.
This role spans four key areas:

Leadership & Vision: Provide strategic leadership and vision for the organization to ensure that CAG fulfills our mission and achieves our goals. Lead and inspire a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Partner with an involved Governing Board and two auxiliary groups, the Creative Arts Group Alliance and the Creative Arts Group Guild.

Program Development & Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of arts programs, events, and educational initiatives. Ensure that programs align with CAG's mission, Board guidelines and community needs.

Fundraising & Financial Management: Lead fundraising initiatives, including donor relations, grant writing, and many events. Did we mention there are a lot of events!? Manage the organization’s budget and payroll, ensuring financial stability and sustainability.

Community Engagement & Advocacy: Act as the public face of CAG, building and nurturing relationships with local government, businesses, artists, and the community. Advocate for the arts and CAG's impact on the community. Collaborate with local nonprofits regarding joint grants and events.

Your Experience & Qualifications

5–7+ years senior leadership in nonprofit, arts, or community-focused settings
-
Skilled in program development, budgeting, team and volunteer leadership
-
Proven fundraising success, including grant writing and cultivating local supporters

Experience with nonprofit CRM (eTapestry), onboarding, and HR systems (Mineral HR), proficient in payroll (ADP) preferred
-
Experience working with a board of directors and a guild; staff and volunteer management with a collaborative leadership style

Experience with facilities oversight, including maintenance and upgrades; gallery oversight experience preferred
-
Ability to work an ever-shifting schedule, including evenings/weekends and lift up to 50 lbs

Strong communication, public speaking, and writing skills (including handwritten notes!) Committed to community engagement and passionate about the arts; relationships with local officials preferred

Benefits & Perks:

Paid time off, including holidays and vacation - two paid weeks of vacation plus one week at Thanksgiving and two weeks over Christmas and New Years.

Possible 32-hour work week (Tu-F)
Health & Dental benefits
Salary Range: $72,000 - $82,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Creative Arts Group is always accepting applications for the Jameson Gallery. We annually accept applications for the Art Festival (June/July) and invite artists to submit work for Art in Bloom (December/January). Check here for more information.

CARDS FOR COMMUNITY
Each month on the last Tuesday, volunteers from the community at large offer their time to help with special projects. Sometimes they help us get ready for events, and other times they make cards that are for sale in our gallery. It's a great time to help and chat with other like minded individuals for a good cause!
